  6. VAT Settings

Indicate whether you are registered for VAT.

    Not sure?

Find this information in EZYcount under Settings → Company Details → VAT section (at the bottom).

    VAT settings - Question

If you choose with VAT, you will need to enter the method and VAT code. You can find this information in EZYcount, or contact support@yesbusiness.ch for assistance.

  8. Transfer Your EZYcount License (if applicable)

If you have an EZYcount license, send an email to support@yesbusiness.ch with your new account name and old account name (including email address).

    Don't worry:

You won't lose access to EZYcount. The subscription is simply added to YESbusiness.

  9. Configure Categories (Accounting Accounts)

In the chart of accounts, you have groups that can contain other groups or accounts. You can only post entries to accounts.

    Company settings

Each group or account has a number, a name, a description, a parent group, and a type. The type is used to generate reports such as the balance sheet and income statement.

  10. Recommended Method to Customize Your Chart of Accounts

    • Take your latest balance sheet and income statement
    • Identify the changes you want to make
    • Once your structure is validated, modify the names and descriptions of groups and accounts in YESbusiness
    • Create the necessary new accounts
    • Delete unnecessary accounts

  11. Work Efficiently

We recommend not deleting all accounts to recreate them. It's much faster to modify existing names than to start from scratch.

  12. Default VAT Codes (if applicable)

If you are subject to VAT, you can set a default VAT code for each account that needs to calculate VAT: sales, purchases, expenses, and investments.

  13. Additional Information: Account Types

The account type can only be selected when creating an account. It defines its role in your accounting:

    1. Assets
Account on the asset side of the balance sheet
    2. Liabilities
Account on the liability side of the balance sheet (excluding equity)
    3. Equity
Equity account on the liability side of the balance sheet
    4. Cash
Money accounts (cash, bank...) to track financial flows
    5. Revenue
Income account in the income statement
    6. Expenses
Expense account in the income statement
    7. Closing
Account to transfer the result to the balance sheet
    8. Group
Organizational container (does not receive entries)
