Connect your AI assistant to YESbusiness

The YESbusiness connector lets the AI assistant you already use — Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code or any other compatible client — read your books and, if you allow it, prepare or record entries. You decide what it may do, every entry it writes is listed and can be undone, and you can disconnect it at any time. This page walks you through each client, then explains the rights levels, the amount cap and the first things to try.

Before you start

  • A YESbusiness account with an active subscription for at least one company. No AI plan is needed: through Claude or ChatGPT you pay your assistant's provider, not us.
  • Your role in the company sets the ceiling: a viewer can grant read access only; an accountant or administrator can also let the assistant write entries.
  • The client itself. Custom connectors need a paid Claude plan; ChatGPT's developer mode is part of its paid plans too. Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code work with their normal setup.

The connector address

Every client asks for the same address. Copy it from here when a step below needs it; the Claude Code command and the Cursor and VS Code snippets already contain it.

Connector address
https://mcp.yesbusiness.ch/mcp

Step by step, per client

Pick your client. Each one needs the address or snippet shown, then a sign-in to YESbusiness where you choose what the assistant may do. The sign-in and consent screen is the same everywhere and is described right after the clients.

Claude.ai (web and mobile)

Where to add it

In your Claude account settings, under Connectors. A connector you add on the web is available in the Claude mobile apps and in Claude Desktop with the same account.

  1. Open claude.ai, then Settings → Connectors.

  2. Choose Add custom connector, name it YESbusiness, paste the connector address and confirm.

  3. Click Connect: the YESbusiness sign-in opens, followed by the consent screen (see below).

  4. In a conversation, open the tools menu (the + button) and make sure YESbusiness is switched on. On the phone, the same menu sits next to the message box.

Connector address
https://mcp.yesbusiness.ch/mcp

Until YESbusiness appears in the directory, add it as a custom connector. Once it is listed, you will find it under the connectors on offer and the address will no longer be needed.

ChatGPT

Where to add it

In the ChatGPT settings, under Apps and connectors. Until YESbusiness is listed, the connector is added through developer mode.

  1. Open Settings → Apps and connectors → Advanced settings and switch on Developer mode.

  2. Back in Apps and connectors, choose Create, name it YESbusiness, paste the connector address and keep OAuth as the authentication.

  3. Choose Connect: the YESbusiness sign-in opens, followed by the consent screen.

  4. In a conversation, open the + menu, pick YESbusiness under the apps and ask your question. Once YESbusiness is listed, you will simply enable it from the app directory.

Claude Desktop

Where to add it

Claude Desktop uses the same connectors as claude.ai: anything you added there is already available. You can also add it from the desktop app itself.

  1. In Claude Desktop, open Settings → Connectors.

  2. If YESbusiness is not there yet, choose Add custom connector, paste the connector address and confirm.

  3. Click Connect and complete the sign-in and consent in your browser.

  4. In a conversation, enable YESbusiness in the tools menu and start asking.

Claude Code

Where to add it

From the terminal, with one command in the project where you want the connector available (add --scope user to have it everywhere).

  1. Open a terminal and run the command below.

  2. Start Claude Code and type /mcp, choose yesbusiness, then Authenticate.

  3. Your browser opens the YESbusiness sign-in and consent screen. Approve, then return to the terminal.

  4. Ask away: Claude Code lists the YESbusiness tools under /mcp and uses them in the conversation.

Command
claude mcp add --transport http yesbusiness https://mcp.yesbusiness.ch/mcp

Cursor

Where to add it

Either with the install link below, or by adding the snippet to your MCP configuration (~/.cursor/mcp.json for all projects, .cursor/mcp.json for one project).

  1. Click Add to Cursor below, or paste the snippet into your mcp.json.

  2. Open Cursor Settings → Tools & MCP: yesbusiness appears in the list. Choose Connect (or Login).

  3. Your browser opens the YESbusiness sign-in and consent screen. Approve, then return to Cursor.

  4. In the chat, in agent mode, the YESbusiness tools are available.

Visual Studio Code

Where to add it

In the file .vscode/mcp.json of your workspace (create it if it does not exist). VS Code uses the connector in Copilot Chat's agent mode.

  1. Create or open .vscode/mcp.json and paste the snippet below.

  2. Click Start above the server entry (or run MCP: List Servers from the command palette and start yesbusiness).

  3. VS Code asks to open your browser: sign in to YESbusiness and approve the consent screen.

  4. In Copilot Chat, switch to Agent mode: the YESbusiness tools are listed in the tools picker.

}

Sign-in and consent

Whatever the client, connecting opens the same two screens of YESbusiness in your browser. Nothing is shared with the assistant before you approve.

  1. Sign in with your usual YESbusiness e-mail and password. If you are already signed in, this step is skipped.

  2. Choose the companies the assistant may see. Only the companies you have access to are offered.

  3. Choose a rights level: Read, Booking with confirmation, or Autonomous. You cannot grant more than your own role allows.

  4. For Autonomous, set the amount cap per entry. For any level, tick Allow reading my receipt files only if you want the assistant to read the content of your documents.

  5. Click Approve. You return to your client, which is now connected. Deny cancels everything.

The three rights levels

You choose the level when connecting. It applies to the whole connection and can never exceed your own role in the company: a viewer can only grant Read.

Read

The assistant reads: balances, entries, bank transactions, open customer invoices, VAT statements, reports and analyses. It changes nothing. Exports arrive as a short-lived download link.

Booking with confirmation

The assistant prepares an entry, a bank-file import or a rule run and shows you the result. Nothing is recorded until you click: in your chat, on the card with the Apply button, or in the app, where the proposal opens in the booking panel.

Autonomous

The assistant records directly, within your amount cap. It never books in a closed year, never deletes anything, and everything it writes is tagged with its name and listed in the AI activity, where it can be undone in one go.

Whatever the level, the connector never reaches subscriptions and payments, members and invitations, bank credentials or company deletion. Those stay in the app, with you.

The amount cap

In Autonomous mode you set a maximum amount per entry and per connection on the consent screen. An entry above the cap is not recorded: the assistant prepares it as a proposal instead, exactly as in Booking with confirmation, and you decide.

The cap is in your company's currency. You can change it later from Settings → Connected apps: the change applies to the next entry.

See and undo what the assistant did

Every entry written through the connector carries the name of the client that wrote it (for example Proposed by Claude). In the app, AI activity lists them per company, with a filter by client and by date.

Select one or several entries and choose Undo: a draft is deleted, a completed entry is reversed by a counter-entry dated today, so your books stay consistent. Entries in a closed year cannot be undone from there.

Settings → Connected apps shows each connection, its rights level, its cap and when it was last used.

Disconnect

  1. In YESbusiness, open Settings → Connected apps and click Revoke next to the connection. The assistant loses access immediately; what it already wrote stays in your books and in the AI activity.

  2. In your client, remove the connector too (Claude: Settings → Connectors; ChatGPT: Apps and connectors; Claude Code: claude mcp remove yesbusiness; Cursor and VS Code: delete the entry from mcp.json), so it does not ask you to sign in again.

  3. Signing out of all your YESbusiness sessions also ends every connection.

Your first conversation

Start with a question, then try an action. Always name the company if you connected several.

How is my year going?

The assistant reads the income statement and the balance sheet for the current year and summarises revenue, costs and result, with the figures it used.

Book this receipt.

Attach the receipt (if you allowed receipt files) or describe it. The assistant proposes an entry: date, accounts, VAT and amount. With confirmation, you apply it from the card or in the app; in Autonomous mode it is recorded if under your cap.

Import this bank file.

Attach a CAMT.053 or MT940 file. The assistant checks it, tells you how many transactions it found and which are new, then imports them when you confirm.

What is still unbooked?

A list of bank transactions without an entry and of documents without a booking, oldest first, so you can go through them one by one.

VAT this quarter?

The VAT statement for the current period: turnover per rate, input tax, the amount due or recoverable, and anything that looks incomplete.

What you will see

In Claude.ai and ChatGPT, a proposal appears as a card with the entry and three buttons: Apply, Reject and Open in app.

The Open in app link (and every other client, which gets the link alone) takes you to YESbusiness, where the entry opens in the booking panel with a Proposed by … banner and the Book button.

A proposal that is neither applied nor rejected expires after 24 hours and disappears on its own.

Your data and your AI provider

What you ask your assistant is sent to its provider (Anthropic, OpenAI or another) and processed under that provider's own terms, in its own locations. This is outside the Swiss and EU processing promise that applies to the assistant built into the app. YESbusiness logs each call — tool, company, time, outcome — and keeps free text only as its length. Receipt files are read only if you ticked the box.
